Band 151... Unity Secondary School...SILVER!
Good job band! I'm sure all of you are happy with the results we've got? Our hard work did paid off? All thanks to Mr Wong, the teachers, alumni and of course, all of you.

Many of you had sacrificed a lot of time for band and neglected your studies. This silver has proved that it's worth your sacrificing and neglecting.

Band, I'm really proud of you. Without each and every one of you, we would not have gotten silver. Everyone had played your part in playing. You guys persisted on and came for the practices although you're tired after a long day in school. I think some of you had even gotten scolded by your parents for the long hours in band. But as you know, this is a family and with one person absent, the band could not balance.

Although there is attendance problem, I really hope to see full attendance from now on. The sec 4s and 5s are stepping down and the band should get more independent not just in terms of playing.

This is just the beginning. Your aim now is to get a GOLD in two years time when the current sec 2s are the most senior in the band. If you think two years is long, it's actually not. So, if you guys want to get better results, start working extremely hard from now. Train the sec 1s.

All the seniors, including the alumni, will always have faith in you. You guys must carry on to play well, improve and prove that you're good. The seniors will always be there for you no matter what happens! Ok?

Lastly, please remember: ONE BAND ONE SOUND.

Continue to move on and do not give up.

Note: The celebration will be on Saturday, 11 April, 11 am. We will be having lunch together in the school canteen. So pass the message around.

Hey Band!
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! You've all done a great job by having full attendance and giving Mr Wong your attention today. Well done! I hope to see the same thing tomorrow. As said by Ivy, we've only got one chance and all of you know that the chance is very important to determine many things.

So what if we're the last band? Remember what Mrs Ong had told you guys. We got to aim high. There's still many out-of-tune stuff and many things being forgotten.

So please, please, please! Remember what Mr Wong had said. Remember to look at him when you're on stage and not elsewhere. Remember to stay calm so that you can take in full breath and produce a full and in-tune sound. Remember your posture; especially the first row. Remember to feel the beat. Please do not rush. Listen to each other. Do the necessary. Sleep early so that you can give Mr Wong your 100% tomorrow.

Hey band, tomorrow is the day that we're working so hard for.
We must get the right feelings, listen to one another and don't try to slow or rush the tempo while playing. Remember the dance lesson we had together? We're able to dance together we would be able to play together as well. Be together! ONE BAND ONE SOUND!

Don't be nervous tomorrow, treat it as a normal band practice.
Look at Mr. Wong and feel him.
We're capable to achieve what we want! (:

We had gone so far and we had gone through all the thick and thin together.
Just one more step to go.
Dream big and dream high!
We can do it!
Sleep early tonight and have a good mood tomorrow.

As all of you know, we are only left with 1practice. And we expect the last practice to be a full attendance practice because it will be better if all of us solve problems together rather than solving problems with some people around and some not around.

So if you are having any extra lessons, NAPFA test and oral, please skip them or postpone it to other days. We hope to see no late comers and full attendance!

Remember to apply every single little stuffs that Mr Wong had pointed out to all of you during practice, you can highlight, colour, draw, paint or whatsoever on your score. It's your score and it's not just for reading notes, please do whatever you can to make sure that you remember what you are supposed to do on every single bar!

We are good in remembering stuffs on the day during the practice, but on the next practice, all of you will tend to forget everything! So please please please, do something. We don't want to screw up on Wednesday, right?

Let's just work extremely hard for SYF. We practiced so much for the past few months, we cannot just let our hard work go down the drain, right?!! Remember to LOOK AT Mr Wong, DO NOT look down on your score just because you are nervous during the SYF day.

We can have many rehearsals, but we only have one chance to perform on SYF. One chance, is all we have. Please grab hold of the opportunity. We can do this, we have to think positively, we have to believe we can do this together, as a band!

Let's give our best shot on 08 April, we only have one chance, one chance to prove to the school and everybody else that all the hard work and efforts we have contributed for the past few months is worth it.

Hey band.
Syf is just 3 days away. There's really not much time left.
All of you want to achieve a good result and not a bronze again.

We're capable of it and it's your choice whether or not
you want to play your music well.
Just listen more to each other and be as in tune as possible.
I hope you guys will focus 100% and don't waste time
during the two combines that we're left with.
It's simply just a matter of discipline. Please put in more effort,
be serious & LOOK at Mr Wong, stop staring at your score!!

You guys are also very forgetful! We should APPLY the things that
are taught in our music. Just concentrate & pay more attention
to every single detail, especially articulation and dynamics.

I'm sure you guys do not want all your effort that
we've put in over the past few months to go down the drain.
So jiayou & give your very very BEST on 8 april!(:
